About

Vickie Fruehauf was born in Illinois and raised in Pennsylvania.  She relocated to Washington, DC to attend The American University, where she received a BA in Communications: Visual Media.  She stayed to attend The George Washington University and was awarded an MFA in Photography in 1994.  Vickie currently lives in Fairfax, VA.

Vickie’s images have been exhibited in solo and group shows both locally and nationally.  Local venues include the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC, The Art Institute of Washington, the Ellipse Art Center in Arlington, Virginia, Mattawoman Fine Arts Center in Maryland and the Kathleen Ewing Gallery in Washington, DC.  Nationally Vickie’s work has been seen in the Woman Made Gallery in Chicago’ the College of Visual Arts Gallery in St. Paul, MN and the San Marcos Fine Arts Center in Texas.

Currently, Vickie is enjoying her free time as she makes new images. She has previously taught at Georgetown University, George Mason University, The George Washington University, The American University and Northern Virginia Community College.
